Genesis Minerals have a newly created position for an Electrician to join and to complement our current Site Services Team located at our Gwalia Mine Site, Leonora.
The Role
Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems and equipment at mine camp sites, mine site infrastructure, power distribution systems, lighting, Wastewater management, Reverse Osmosis plants, bore fields, Fire Systems, TV/Wi-Fi networks, and Camp kitchen equipment.
Carry out statutory inspections of electrical equipment and provide accurate and detailed reports.
Undertake scheduled preventative electrical maintenance tasks to ensure optimum performance and to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
Ensure electrical maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with specifications, relevant standards and regulatory guidelines
Ensure all equipment is properly commissioned before being handing back to service and ensure personnel access to all electrical infrastructure and equipment is safe and compliant.
Liaison and cooperation with Accommodation/Administration personnel, other NPI trades, and Mine Site supervisors/coordinators to ensure optimum equipment performance and availability.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing electrical tasks, including lockout/tagout procedures and arc flash safety

Relevant & recognised Electrical Trade Qualification
‘A’ grade electrical worker’s licence
Low Voltage Rescue/CPR
Current unencumbered Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in either an industrial setting or mining.
Previous experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, in particular Pronto or SAP.
Awareness of Office of Energy Electrical Requirements, WHS Mines Regulations and AS/NZS 3000 wiring Rules and Regulations
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
