Estimator / Programmer

Fantastic Opportunity - Great Company!  Our client provides steel processing services including cutting, bending, and forming to a wide range of industries, and they are seeking to appoint a Estimator / Programmer for their facility in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answering customer enquiries and customer pricing information via phone or email in a timely manner.
• Understand and interpret customer requirements; including drawings, written specs and resolving customer problems when required.
• Prepare estimates and quotations using computerised quotation spreadsheets and ERP Software.
• Working closely and communicating with all the internal team members to ensure a smooth process and execution of all jobs.
• Process CAD information using AUTOCAD to put through FAST CAM package to generate NC Programs to relevant machines.  Convert 3D drawings to 2D if relevant.
• Job costing and invoicing, including estimating margins, labour requirements/costs and delivery costs.
• Follow progress of jobs, check engineering, tooling and quality.  Ensure jobs are aligned with customer requirements.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Cert IV Building & construction or similar qualification
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction/structural drawings
• Previous experience in production planning, estimating and Sigmanest
• Knowledge of steel industry is highly regarded
• Knowledge of M1 (ERP system) will be highly regarded
• Proficient computer and CAD skills
• Excellent communication skills/relationship builder with internal and external stakeholders
• Meticulous eye for detail
