Signature Staff is working with our client on a short-term mechanical project based in Townsville, commencing 12 January and running for approximately 3–4 weeks.

This role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Fitter who is confident working independently on mechanical rebuilds and enjoys project-based work with clear scope and structure.

You will be engaged on-site assisting with the rebuild of cooling towers, including the removal and replacement of mechanical components.

• Rebuild and service cooling towers

• Remove and replace motors, fans, bearings, pulleys and belts

• Carry out mechanical fitting works to a high standard

• Follow site safety procedures and work efficiently within the project timeframe

Classification will be based on experience:

• Level 1 – $40.00 per hour

• Level 2 – $45.00 per hour

• Level 3 – $50.00 per hour

Hours: 38 hours per week
Roster: Monday to Friday

• Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting (essential)

• Proven mechanical fitter experience

• Strong mechanical fitting skills and knowledge

• Ability to work safely and independently on-site

• PPE required: Hard hat, hi-vis, safety boots, gloves and safety glasses

• PPE supplied: No – must bring own

• Tools: Must bring own tools

• Short-term project with clear start and end dates
