APHRA Registered Paramedics – FIFO- Brisbane – Full Time- Day Shift Only (No night Shift) on-call 24/7 for emergencies only.

As a result of our continued year on year growth and new project wins, Fire & Safety Australia is seeking experienced APHRA Registered Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedics and Intensive Care Paramedics (ICP), to support 9 new sites throughout Queensland and South Australia.

The Roles:

All Roles are FIFO with Tier 1 clients and great onsite facilities. Day Shift Only (No night Shift) on call for emergencies only.

These roles form the critical medical response capability on behalf of our clients and are supported by our FSA Clinical Operations Manager, Chief Medical Advisor, Telehealth Partner and HEMS teams ensuring the best possible care is delivered to the workforce of our oil and Gas client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-hospital emergency response and Advanced Life Support when required.
  • Deliver pre-hospital emergency response and Intensive Care Support (As Qualified) when required.
  • Administer and interpret medical questionnaires to support fitness-for-work assessments.
  • Deliver Vaccination programs as required.
  • Support initial response planning and contribute to survey logistics.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using systems such as Cority.
  • Prepare, check and maintain medical equipment, consumable and medications.
  • Operate and maintain ambulance and site equipment as per site rules and regulations.
  • Deliver in scope accredited training as per site scope of works.
  • Actively participate in onsite scenario training and toolbox education sessions.
  • Site Specific Reporting as direct by FSA and client.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualification as a Paramedic as per Australian Legislative requirements and registered as a qualified practitioner by the AHPRA with no conditions, undertakings or reprimands.
  • Trained in collection of substance abuse samples (Drugs and Alcohol) to maintain compliance with AS/NZS 4308:2008 “Procedures for specimen collection and the detection and quantitation of drugs of abuse in urine.”
  • Hold current Basic Life Support certification and Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Hold current Advanced Trauma Management certification (to manage single and multiple casualties)
  • Relevant thrombolysis training for the provision of thrombolytic medication and usage, with suitable arrangement for specialist electrocardiogram review available 24 hours/day
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent

Experience:

  • AHPRA Registered Paramedic with 2-5 years in a similar FIFO / DIDO role
  • Recent acute/critical care experience, such as on-road emergency care or remote area emergency care.
  • Physically fit and mentally prepared for remote field deployment
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to work independently
  • Flexible to work 11-hour shifts, Day shift, on an as rostered FIFO basis
  • Flexibility with Roster with an approximate even time assignment.

Working Environment:

  • 2 weeks on: 2 weeks off, 15 days on (including travel) 13 days off at oil and gas facilities in regional Queensland and South Australia.
  • 11-hour days (2 x .5-hour breaks paid) on-call 24/7.
  • Mobilisation ex Brisbane or Adelaide via client charter (depending on Site).
  • After hours on call.
