Go far with IOR

IOR might be the greatest Aussie success story you haven’t heard of… yet.

From humble roots in Eromanga, QLD, we’ve been fuelling the furthest corners of Australia for over 40 years. You won’t see our logo on racing cars. Instead, you’ll be part of a team that helps fuel LifeFlight’s choppers and supports communities around the nation – real work with real impact that’s growing every day.

At IOR, we’re committed to building careers, not just filling roles. We’re looking for multiple experienced electricians to join our team at the Port of Brisbane. With your switchboard expertise and ability to work safely in hazardous environments, you’ll play a vital role in powering our operations. In return, you’ll be supported with genuine opportunities for growth, ongoing professional development, and the flexibility to balance work and life. Join a workplace that values safety, teamwork, and progression where your skills make a difference and your future is invested in.

About the role

We’re seeking four skilled Electricians to support exciting project growth at our fabrication workshop. Enjoy a 9-day fortnight and a strong focus on work-life balance.

You’ll interpret technical drawings, build LV/ELV switchboards and cabinets, and collaborate with engineers to bring new designs to life. Flexibility is key—light fabrication, pump replacements, and potential field work offer variety and growth for the right candidate.

  • Installation of electrical components on pumping packages, motors, solenoids, flowmeters and in house technology.
  • Working with FMS (fuel managements systems) – training provided.
  • Courses provided and upskilling for future projects. Hazardous area, solar etc.
  • Tools provided to each electrician and all specialised tools provided on site
  • Your own work area, work bench in a clean and modern workshop with a good existing team

About you

You’re a qualified Electrician with hands-on experience in switchboard manufacturing, installation, and electrical systems. You take pride in your technical expertise and commitment to safety, and you’re motivated to grow your career through ongoing learning and development. You thrive in a collaborative team environment that values flexibility, innovation, and recognition for quality work.

  • Proven experience in switchboard manufacturing, installation, or assembly.
  • Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and signal line diagrams.
  • Strong diagnostic abilities with a track record of resolving electrical issues effectively.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to deliver quality work in electrical switchboard fit outs and related tasks.
  • Committed to compliance with WHS and quality control processes, proactively resolving issues
  • Support Apprentices and Trades Assistants while keeping documentation and workspace organised
