Position Summary: We are seeking Project Managers Logisticians, Commercial/Procurements Specialists and Cost Modellers [Project Managers] at Levels 2,3 & 4 [Approvals, Business Case Development, Cost Estimation, Risk management, Schedule, Governance] to provide Project services in a Defence and Federal Government environment associated with capability and infrastructure projects. Our Project Managers lead and manage assigned staff and resources to achieve high quality outcomes for the client, in accordance with the client’s key performance indicators within the budget. They develop relationships with client contract managers and Forge stakeholders, coordinate information sharing, decision making and resource allocation.

Role expectations (described below) vary in accordance with your seniority, experience and demonstrated achievements. The broad remuneration bracket encompasses all seniorities from Level 2, through to Level 4. This is a guide and is only designed to help inform your discussion with the recruitment team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (commensurate with seniority, level, experience and therefore remuneration)

  1. Deliver high quality outcomes & services to the client within your discipline and expertise
  2. Develop and maintain a trusted partnership with the Client
  3. Achieve the companies internal project management goals
  4. Lead, manage and coordinate independent projects
  5. Business development, winning and delivering work and commercial management of same
  6. Internal & client communication – including support to, meetings, reports, stakeholder engagement and decision making
  7. Leadership, guidance, support and development to staff within the service Line

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Skills & Knowledge

  1. Project Management
  2. Procurement in the Public Sector Context
  3. Approvals document suite
  4. Cost Estimation, Schedule, Risk Management, ILS, Training, Sustainment, Contracting, Procurement, Commercial Management
  5. Authoring and preparation of Cabinet Submissions, Business Cases and Approvals documents
  6. Planning and Management of Project workloads and teams of staff
  7. Use of Microsoft IT and suite of productivity applications
  8. Other software skills/competencies including Primavera/OPP/SAP/Oracle/Doors/GEMS or other similar tools viewed favourably
  9. Project management, risk management, resource management, and governance
  10. Relevant Technical and Regulatory requirements
  11. Contract Management and Contract Preparation

Experience [ Demonstrated with examples: 3 to 15 years, varying by level]

  1. working in the Defence and Federal Government Sector
  2. applying project management techniques, skills and knowledge to capability projects and/or procurement and/or asset management tasks and disciplines
  3. Vocational experience in management and/or consultancy roles
  4. Analytical and problem-solving approach to tasks, including the ability to develop a range of practical options for issue resolution
  5. Managing clients and delivery of services and project management work packages and products to clients
  6. Management of teams, people and work in the Defence sector or Consultancy profession
  7. application of project management disciplines within the context of Public Sector projects [including: risk management, resource management, and governance]

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Essential: Business degree or equivalent degree and relevant experience
  2. Essential: Active Australian Government security clearance at minimum of Baseline, NV2 preferred, PV viewed favourably
  3. Preferable: Chartered Project Manager status, or equivalent
  4. Preferable: Prince 2, MSP or similar project management qualifications
  5. Preferable: MBA or equivalent commercial knowledge and experience
  6. Preferable: Public Sector Procurement or equivalent
