About the Team/Role

The role supports the Aboriginal Outcomes Unit (AOU) and key Closing the Gap (CtG) priorities. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of a new grant program for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to improve digital inclusion in Aboriginal communities across NSW. The role will include grant program development, assessment, partnership management and evaluation of program outcomes

The grant program has been informed by community engagement and voice through NSW’s first ever measurement of digital inclusion for Aboriginal people which released earlier this year.

 Your Day-to-Day

  • Partner with stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to meet organisational objectives.
  • Undertake business needs assessments, supply market analysis and commercial risk assessments.
  • Lead sourcing activities and establish supply arrangements that deliver value for money.
  • Develop and administer contract management plans, negotiate changes and monitor supplier performance.
  • Provide high-level advice and guidance on procurement governance and best practice.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate procurement risks and ensure compliance with legislation and policy.
  • Document procurement processes and decisions to maintain probity and audit standards.

 About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong experience in procurement and contract management within a complex environment.
  • Ability to lead strategic sourcing and manage high value/high-risk procurement projects.
  • Skilled in risk management and commercial negotiation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of NSW Government procurement policies and frameworks (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and manage competing priorities.
  • Commitment to integrity, professionalism and customer service.

  • identifies as a person of Aboriginal descent 
  • presents documentation identifying their family’s Aboriginal descent 
  • is accepted by their local Aboriginal community as a person of Aboriginal descent.
