Storeperson | Forklift Operator (Afternoon Shift)

About the Business

Colorspan Industries, established in 1985, is an Australian-owned steel manufacturing business based in Tullamarine.

We manufacture metal roofing products and architectural cladding systems for residential and commercial builders.

We are currently improving our Afternoon Shift structure and are adding an additional Storeperson / Forklift Operator to support our warehouse and dispatch operations.

About the Role

This role is part of our Afternoon Shift warehouse team (5pm – 1am, Monday to Friday).

You will assist with dispatch, loading, forklift operation and general warehouse duties.

You will be working mainly in the factory and yard areas, loading and moving product, preparing orders, and supporting the flow of dispatch at the end of each day.

This is a physical, hands-on role – efficient work habits, good awareness and teamwork are important.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift safely for loading and unloading
• Complete basic daily safety checks (e.g. forklift pre-start)
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch
• Assist with loading trucks and moving product within yard/factory
• Perform manual handling of sheet-metal products as required
• Basic data entry / system use for inventory and dispatch updates
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
• Follow safety procedures and instructions at all times

Skills & Experience

Required:

• Current Forklift Licence
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling work
• Basic computer / system entry capability
• Reliable and consistent work ethic
• Good communication skills (verbal and basic written)

Preferred:

• Previous warehouse / dispatch experience
• Experience loading trucks / handling steel or building products
• Basic understanding of warehouse / logistics workflows
