The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Smithfield branch. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind daily service delivery, operational performance, and team development — ensuring our fleet and people run like clockwork, every day.

This is a hands-on, leadership role suited to someone who thrives on responsibility, is a natural motivator and brings energy and focus to operational excellence. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the day-to-day operations of our small operational team while driving a positive, safety-first culture.
  • Managing staff training, development, inductions, fatigue management and incident investigations.
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and company policies, systems and procedures.
  • Managing recruitment, pre-employment and onboarding processes in partnership with HR.
  • Monitoring data accuracy, maintaining records and completing all reporting and KPIs on time.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and optimising fleet activities to ensure reliable, responsive service.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and performance.

About you

  • Experience in transport, logistics, or a similar fast-paced, service-based operations environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate and manage performance.
  • A strong customer focus and ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
  • High attention to detail, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems.
  • Understanding of WHS, compliance and safety processes.
  • A growth mindset and commitment to building a strong, positive team culture.
  • Ability to pass a medical & regular drug & alcohol testing.
